We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
T.S. Eliot
I have always loved looking through the camera lens, seeing all of God’s amazing creation illuminated;
using a macro lens focusing on the petals of a rose or the eye of a camelion,
a telephoto lens to see a mother bird hovering over her nestlings,
a wide angle lens to capture the rainbow over the Rocky mountains or stunning architecture,
and finally the portrait lens to see the soul and personality emerge through the eyes,
always looking for the perfect light.
This has been a gift with which I seek to bring blessing and something of beauty.
I received a degree in Radio-TV-Film and early in my career worked in a darkroom
and as a free-lance photographer, using film until just four years ago. I built a small
business from home so I could raise my four incredible children as a single parent.
They have been the best gifts of all and now grandchildren. I love those babies
and the touch of heaven they bring me.
I am a member of PPA, TPPA, and PPSA, the local guild here in San Antonio, and past
president of the guild and Photographer of the Year in 1999.
Awards over the years have been a thrill, but not as much as being behind the camera
to enjoy the views through the lens, ever striving to create that perfect portrait,
be it a baby, a child, the family, the graduate or a bride. They are all beautiful!
